The many saints of Newark trailer

HBO Max has dropped official trailer of upcoming crime drama movie “The Many Saints of Newark” on 8 September 2021. This long awaited prequel movie will give us Tony Soprano’s origin story and show us how he became the mob boss from the teenager to the gangsters. This movie is set against the backdrop of the Newark race riots in 1967.

The official synopsis of the Many Saints of Newark is follows Young Anthony Soprano who is growing up in one of the most tumultuous eras in Newark’s history, becoming a man just as rival gangsters begin to rise up and challenge the all-powerful DiMeo crime family’s hold over the increasingly race-torn city. Caught up in the changing times is the uncle he idolizes, Dickie Moltisanti, who struggles to manage both his professional and personal responsibilities — and whose influence over his nephew will help make the impressionable teenager into the all-powerful mob boss we’ll later come to know: Tony Soprano.

This film is directed by Alan Taylor who wrote several episodes in original series and won an Emmy for his work on season 6 episode “Kennedy and Heidi”. David Chase wrote the screenplay with Lawrence Konner. The Sopranos creator David Chase said that, “The whole thing is about fate, trying to escape out from under your fate, and it not being possible. It’s about these cycles of violence in families, cycles of abuse. It’s hard-wired, and it’s totally self-defeating.”

The Many Saints of Newark is set to be premiere on 1 October 2021 in cinemas and also on HBO Max streaming platform. Check out the trailer of the many saints of Newark:-
