Netflix has released the official teaser trailer of upcoming ominous drama film “The Power of the dog” on Thursday, 26 August 2021. This 1925 drama film is directed, written and produced by Academy award winner Jane Campion. If we look into the trailer we get to see Benedict Cumberbatch character who has a haunting tune when he peers out on a window. The only film to be screening at all the festivals Telluride, Toronto and New York festival.

The Synopsis of The power of the dog movie is based on a novel of the same name by Thomas Savage and this movie story is set in 1925 Montana where it follows the story of intimidating rancher Phil Burbank (Benedict Cumberbatch) and his brother George Burbank (Jesse Plemons). One day George marries a widower Rose (Kirsten Dunst) and moves her with her son Peter (Kodi Smit-McPhee). After Phil torments them until he finds himself exposed to the possibility of love.

The film is written and directed by Jane Campion, who is well-known for his work on movie “The Piano” and won Oscar for the original screenplay. She was last feature in a film was more than a decade ago in 2009’s Bright Star. But this year she could be up for the race of academy award for “the Power of the dog”. The film score is composed by Johnny Greenwood and Phantom Thread.

The Power of the Dog film has a world premiere on 2nd September at Venice Film Festival after that this film is released in limited theatres on 17 November 2021 and finally “the Power of dog is going to release on 1 December 2021 in Netflix streaming platform.
